Review of The Queen of Xana
Queen Julia of the kingdom of Xana gives birth to a beautiful baby whom she named Agatha. Upon seeing the beauty of her daughter, a fairy godmother appeared and declared that Agatha will become a good leader that Xana has ever had.
True to the fairy god mother’s prediction princess Agatha grow up bearing the traits of a true leader; good manner and an utmost courtesy that would give everybody a kind of compliment that can instantly melt their hearts. She had already learned that showing such gracious behavior, she could get people to do everything for her. But her view to the place they live change as she expand her venture outside the palace. She discovered a place outside the luxurious and comfort of the palace full of poor commoners being taken advantage of the higher position person whom they sell their products to earn for a living.
Upon witnessing such act, Princess Agatha instantly develop a since of responsibility to the people and she promised them and to herself that she will do her best to help them with all her might. She can’t do it without having a position in the palace so she was looking forward to her twentieth birthday, at which she would be officially proclaimed heiress to the throne.
However, before her mother officially proclaim her as the heiress to the throne a sorcerer came uninvited and killed the queen using his power and took over Xana. Princess Agatha was in grieve for what happened and she could not find ways to defeat the sorcerer, her fairy god mother on the other hand was protecting her from the harm of the sorcerer and declares that she can save her people only if she identifies her handsome prince whose also a victim of the sorcerer’s invasion in their own palace, but this prince is unidentified in the crowd on her very first try to identify him she must make love to him so they could overpower the sorcerer and regain their stolen palaces.
I like this book because; it’s an adult themed fairy tale with a mixture of a political allegory in favor to the common peoples suffering beneath the wealthy. It also contains
elements of magic and a few explicit sex scenes. I like how the author realistically describes the situation of the poor while the rulers are enjoying a luxurious life using their money. For that I give this book thumbs up and a rating of 4 out of 4.
If you like to read a book about politics and be entertained at the same time for its magical content this book is a satisfaction for you.
