From Drift to SHIFT by Jody B. Miller is a self-help book that directs to inspire people who wish to shift their lives from the present scenario for a better and happening life.

Jody B. Miller explains that it is hard to make a change in one's life because a person is used to his/her routine. I believe this is accurate because, in times like these, lives have become so fast that a person cannot stop for a minute and ask himself if he's happy or not.

We are working all day all night to make ends meet, to make our folks happy, to live a life of comfort. Maybe we even crush our dreams in search of wealth. This book takes you on a journey and makes you ponder such questions.

This book is divided into four sections - Why Shift, When to Shift, How to Shift, and After the Shift. The author has included some real motivational stories to support the idea of this book. These stories are of different people living in different parts of the world. Each story is supported with facts and practical complications and solutions. They made me realize that change is possible if one wishes to start a new journey in life.

The book is engaging as some of the conversations are done in the form of dialogue exchange. The language is easy to read and I found the story narration up to the mark. Unlike other self-help books, this book gives a reasonable and practical approach if one needs a shift in life.

In the end, the author has included a section where she explains the pros of meeting someone new each day. The person can be anyone, a friend of a friend, or maybe a new colleague. This teaches a person to learn from others, to wake up with a smile, and to be empathetic and unprejudiced.

I rate this book four out of four stars because I couldn't find any negative aspects. Also, there are no grammatical or spelling errors that make this book well-edited.

I would recommend this book to people who are looking for a positive approach to take a new turn in their lives. Also, people who are interested in reading a powerful self-help book might have a great time reading this. I would not recommend this book to avid fiction readers as this genre would not be able to provide its whole significance.
