Review of Leadership
The book Leadership by Craig B. Whelden is for those people who are serious about learning everything about leadership, from A to Z. The author teaches using his own experience in the U.S. army, in a very fun, story-like manner. He shares each and every nugget he grabbed in an exceptionally successful, 30-year long career in the U.S. army and the Navy. The book shares his entire journey- from being an entry level soldier, to retiring as a Major General- in such a way that even a 6th grader could comprehend it. The entire book is divided into 24 chapters, each being a major event in the author’s life, and a mini-lesson for us. The author shares with us some of his near-death experiences, and the impact they had on his life. He also tells us about what was the real motive behind the Twin Towers attack, the risk of landing 200 soldiers with parachutes in a small area, and why it’s really dangerous to wear a ring during army training. We can actually notice the author maturing as the book nears the end, because his entire life story is inside of it- from being a hot-blooded teenager, to being a reputed middle-rank officer, and lastly retiring as a wise and mature Major General.
The best thing about this book is that it will completely engage you, because of it’s story-like format. The storyline completely hooks you, and leaves you amazed; as to how complex life events can be explained so beautifully and simply. And you will not get swayed from the main topic even for a single moment, because every chapter begins and ends with an important lesson about leadership. And a bonus is that the author has provided his personal notes at the end of the book, which are golden if you want to become a great leader. This book covers every nook and cranny of leadership, and will not leave a single speck of doubt after thorough reading.
There is nothing I disliked about this book. The book was exceptionally well edited, with zero errors. The author has put every ounce of his being into the book, and one can easily feel it.
I award Leadership a rating of 4 out of 4 stars because this book is truly a masterpiece, and can completely transform the lives of millions of people.
I highly recommend this book to young adults and adults- especially people who are either beginning their career, or are somewhere in the middle of it- because the techniques given in this book can bring about phenomenal growth in their careers.

You are right. Without the personal stories, this book would have been finished in 30 pages. But then it would be just a theoretical notepad, and would be really dull and boring. The stories were necessary for explaining the practical aspects of leadership, as well as motivating the readers.diana lowery wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 08:33 I think I would enjoy the personal stories that your mentioned.

If you have even an ounce of doubt that you may contain leadership qualities, I will strongly recommend that you go through this book at least once. Because this book not only has the potential to improve existing leaders, but also to create leaders out of ordinary people. Only condition being, you will have to follow the points given in this book religiously.Precious DA wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 05:13 Most people have identified that I might have qualities but I have often ignored it. Exactly. Not only talent and dedication, but also experience. He has put his entire 50-year career inside of this book. That's why I called it a masterpiece.Mindful Wordsmith wrote: ↑21 Sep 2021, 09:08 It's commendable how the author has included every important aspect relating to leadership in this book.
