Zara Hanson is a secret agent that works on supernatural extraterrestrial missions. This time, the stakes are high. She has to save the earth (Terra) from the Elbs, highly evolved intelligent beings that seek to eliminate humanity. with the protection of the Eyt who send Ansebe an artificial nano synthetic electrochemical biological entity and his brother Fez-pyan. Each has exceptional powers to help Zara with her quest. Will they be able to save the human race from extinction or will they fail? How will Zara react when she has to go to space to follow leads for her mission and ends up discovering new species and a painted symbol that is the key to the earth's salvation and how will she cope with the new adventure she is facing? You have to read the book to find out.

What I liked about the book was the diversity and variety of creatures, species, and planets. The author has a very interesting and unique imagination. How he managed to create all those fictitious beings and life forms and how he managed to give each and everything an unusual name is fascinating. Also, the flow of the plot is plodding. He managed to link the scenes and have them flow very smoothly and chronologically. He also developed the characters to a certain extent to be believable and not too unrealistic, and he made them people that you would look up to like Zara, or want to see like Ansebe.

What I didn't like was the beginning. It kinda steered me into confusion. It was a little difficult to start with alien names and their speaking writing style. Also, the book is too sciency and, as a person that doesn't have a clue about science stuff, I was overwhelmed. Sometimes there were conversations that started that were not attached to any character, so you would have to figure out by yourself who was speaking.

I would rate this book a 2 out of 4, even though it was an OK book to read. The characters and the names were well developed, but it was not my cup of tea. It was too scientific for me, and the beginning made me dislike it more because of how confusing it was.

I would not recommend Zara Hanson & The Mystery Of The Painted Symbol by J.L.Haynes to realistic people who like real stories, but maybe to children who like solar system stories and alien life, it is very suitable for kids in my opinion not so much for adults unless you are a die-hard fan of fantasy novels like the hobbit or star wars, the book has minor profanity and not any sexual content.
