This looks like a very captivating story. I wonder what is the meaning of the bear. However, war stories are not my thing, so I will leave it.

I have reviewed Mr. Greensberg's book earlier so I am familiar with his writing. I enjoyed that book although I seldom read general fictions. War books and movies dont entice me either. You review was great though. I am sure people who enjoy war stories even if they have feel good theme.

Sounds like a captivating story about war, the effects, and what we do to survive. From a shy man to a warrior. Sounds like a captivating story.

Quite a different way of telling a wartime story. I liked the concept and incorporation of a good luck charm. Something I have never read about, so going to put it on my to-read shelf. Thanks for the review.

Fred's adventures turn into a good coming-of-age tale. I'm drawn to the idea of a good luck charm and the spirit of a bear protecting Fred throughout his war ordeal and later in his life. I'm ready to give the book a try. Thanks for your review!

It is interesting about the bear. That part sounds comforting. However, war and killing is something perhaps too much tight now. Your review was an enjoyable read however.

I love reading war stories, and The Bronze Bear by Jerry A. Greenberg got my attention. The book's cover is attractive too.

This story reminds me of hearing about my uncle's service in the Vietnam War. I have also felt that when you hear war stories you feel the pain of what these soldiers went through, but you are mostly left with the lighter moments. I, in particular, will always remember a story by my uncle where he signed his group up to deliver supplies to a local French run leprosy hospital. None of the other men in his group wanted to go, but they went anyways because no one else wanted to go. This book reminds me of that experience in my life talking with my uncle many years before he passed away.

It is one thing to choose to serve as a soldier, another thing to fight gallantly, and a different one to transition into a civilian lifestyle post-service. I am adding the book to my shelf. Thanks for the review.

A very catchy cover page. I would say the theme of the story is disguised with the title choice. It sounded like an enchanted children's book but not related to war. I appreciate the author's effort to introduce different elements to make it engaging. Thanks for an insightful review.

I'm not quite sure about the plot of the story as it seems to be vaguely mentioned in the review. But apparently the book is centered around personal development of the characters through their time spent in different circumstances, including the war. Hence, I might not go for this book.
