I'd love to read about Bear and his role in Fred's life. Fred was lucky to always have Bear there to help him. Thanks for the review!

War stories are always too intense for me, but I love the friendship, trust and survival themes intertwined. I also appreciate the strong character development. Congratulations on the BOTD.

I'm not an avid reader of war novels, so I don't think that this book will be a good fit for me. It sounds like it has some good elements, but not enough to really make me want to read this particular novel. I'm going to pass on this one, but thank you for the interesting review.

A story about pain and loss told from an easing perspective. So it's not the sort of book and drags the reader and fills them with pain. I like that trust and friendship are discussed in the book.

The story seems to examine the significance of unique objects, like charms, to war soldiers during and after their deployment. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

I like war stories, though they tend to be graphic sometimes. However, this book sounds like it might be different from the ones I normally read. I will have to read it to find out. Fred and his lucky charm, Bear sound intriguing.

Thanks for the review. I am not a fan of war stories, but I do like that Fred's character transition was well written and would be worth recommending to fans of this kind of novel.

War stories intrigue me as many of them mix most of the reality to the narrative. I'm glad to know that fact that it's well-written, with a good choice of words.

I'm not a fan of war fiction but that spirit of the bear that resides in the statuette and then becomes one with Fred communicating with him in his mind and helping him achieve success in his life is very interesting and intriguing. I wonder how the events in the story unfold. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I really don’t like books about an individual’s experience in war, so I won’t be reading this. That being said, however, I am interested in Fred’s story with the bear.
