Official Review: the REMF, Hurry Up and Wait by Ray Dyer

So many books try to capture what happened in the Vietnam War, but it’s hard to convey exactly what it was like (which seems to be the case with all war). I’ve read The Things They Carried and, more recently, the memoir of an American nurse who worked in the conflict. This book seems to provide yet a different perspective from both of these, so I might give it a shot when I’m in the mood to read something related to war. Thank you for the helpful review.

All is fair in love and war, or is it?

Precise phrasing, which reminds me of “Love Is Power Or Something Like It” by A. Igoni Barett; nice book, read it yet?

The story, believed as described, has a lot of emotional content. Readers have been somewhat foresaid to be able to easily imagine being with the characters as they struggle to survive the horrors of war. Does that mean that I can safely think what I am thinking, that Ray Dyer has done a nice job in developing his characters? For pathos, or empathy, is only possible when connection (to characters) is feasible, or is it?

Nice review, for a nice book; perhaps, a skilled editor could be wheeled in to man a revised edition.

This is quite a subtle war story yet a good novel to read since some aspects intensify the story.
