Time travel plots can be challenging, both to write and to read. This author seems to have done well in making it comprehensible. I don't have a problem with these sorts of plots, and the premise sounds interesting. I may have to give this one a look. Thanks for the recommendation and great review!

I never understood what is the point to combine the books in series, if they can be read as standalone? I mean it either independent unit or part of the whole - it is impossible to have it both ways. Storyline does seem interesting and appealing to my tastes, will try, but only after reading first book from the series!

This sounds like a book to read during the long, dark winter nights. With patience and lots of free time to fully dive into the story and enjoy it from beginning to end.

Time travel isn't something that I normally enjoy. The character development is an appealing aspect thought. Good review.

I don't particularly care for books about time travel. I also don't enjoy reading books in the middle of a series, so I will take a pass on this book. But the prose is quite lovely and musical if you read it out loud. Congratulations to Mr. Key on his accomplishment and on receiving BOTD.

It seems like a good book but a bit confusing reading the book will make it much easier to understand great reviews.

I do enjoy sci-fi and fantasy, but I don't prefer books that take until the mid-point to start making sense. The unclear transitions between narrators I usually find pretty frustrating as well. Your review was informative, thank you!

A book with a poetic writing style and time travel theme. I already feel inclined to read it. It seems to have a lot of suspense and unpredictable scenes that tie up in the end. Can't wait. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Sci-fi is a genre that appeals to me, and with elements such as time travel, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Even though it's the second book, I feel like reading this book.  Thank you for the information about being possible to read this book as a standalone.
Also, I'm glad to know that fact that it has a captivating plot.

I don’t usually like to get in after the beginning of a series, like this, but I have recently been reading another series where the books are standalone. So, I know it can be done.

Though time travel is a common concept, I love it still, especially ones that are well written and have a good character build-up. I think I'm going to enjoy this book. Thanks for the review.

Time travel is a hard concept to write about as the author has to keep events straight and clear in the book. The best ones are written in a slightly confusing way that comes together. Sounds like an interesting book!

the first thing that caught my eyes is the title and book cover art. if i dont read this book for any other reason, ill read it because of the book title and cover art. the review seems mysterious to me as well and this review makes it even more compelling
