telnora wrote:There are so many good authors I love to read. There are a few authors I make sure go to the top of my to read pile. Those would be Nora Roberts (as Nora Robert and also as J.D. Robb), Debbie Macomber, James Patterson, Susan Wiggs, and Robyn Carr. I have the authors I usually read, authors I will read anything because they wrote it, and I also love to explore new authors as well. I love books that are part of a series, as the ongoing stories make the characters more rounded and like actual people. I am constantly searching for new authors.
telnora,

I, like you are constantly looking for new authors, this is why I love this thread

Thank you! Every year when I get a little cash for Christmas or my birthday I spend hours on the web searching for books by authors I have not tried yet. I must admit I also purchase books from my favorites as well. By doing this I found the Donut Shop mysteries by Jessica Beck. That was a great find!

It has to be Robert Holdstock... if I was going to be stuck on a desert island with only one author to hand (bookwise obviously) Then The Rhyhope Wood series would have to be it. Fantasy with a touch of Jungian archetypes... mythagos... hence the first book Mythago Wood.

I've read and reread and will reread again.

I would have to say Anne Bishop and Jaqueline Carey are at a tie. When there's the option of preording a new work of theirs, I scrape together everything I can and do so.

That being said, there're numerous different authors that I look out for and I'm always looking for someone new to read.

I think my fav author has to be Khaled Hosseini who wrote A thousand Splendid Suns and I think that has to be the most beautiful book I've ever read.

So many...Has to be Stephen King. His early books left a lasting impression on a teenager experimenting with literature.

This is a difficult question since I have multiple. If I had to pick the first of my favorites that comes to mind I would have to say Karen Marie Moning. Her writing is so raw and powerful. You love to hate and hate to love her characters. She is probably also one of the best writers of the alpha male character.

When I was in high school my favorite author was Pearl Buck. Maybe my love for her writings was coupled to my desire to know more about China. Today, i enjoy a great variety of authors. As a researcher, my main concern is to acquire the best knowledge in the field I'm focusing on.

like many of you its hard to pick just one of the greatest authors out there, but i like to pick the newer ones when i can.

one ive found recently is a brand new author of a book of poetry called Heartbreak to Acceptance by Andrew Burchett...i feel his pain in his poems.

i did some research and some digging and found out hes working on short stories and actual full length books..seems to be all over the place lol.

One of my favorite authors is John Jakes. He writes historical fiction. The North and South series was good but the superior series by far was the Kent Family Saga. I also loved Homeland.
