Sister B sounds like an awesome person. I like that she faced down racism and won at a time when it was hard to do so. Thank you for the interesting review.

Is this a memoir or a novel? Just curious because of the front cover. Anyway, while I read the review, it reminds me of the book The Help, sans the romance and mystery. Anyway, I'm all for women empowerment novels. I feel like it gives so much power to us and inspiration. So thanks for this. I'll definitely look forward reading this.

I am not really a fan of historical fiction, and therefore will give this one a skip. It seems like it could be an interesting and inspiring book to those who prefer this genre. Thank you for the great review!

It really takes courage and a dogged spirit to be able to scale through racial injustice just as Sister B did, I really love her character but I won't wondering what happened to her neglected son, did she go back for him? Did Akio also survive his own plight?
My curiosity is indeed heightened.
Thanks for a concise review!!
