This young adult book seems to be pretty fun and humorous. Mick also seems to be an interesting character who collects boxes of all kinds. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review!

An empty box opens a world of imagination! I like the author's use of a simple box - so appropriate for the era in which the story is set. The humor is also very appealing, especially for younger readers. Thanks for reviewing this book. Great review!

I was interested in the book after reading the sample. Through suspense and humor, the author managed to keep the readers engaged in the story. However cliffhanger endings aren't for me. Congrats on BOTD!!

I liked the humor that was used in the sample. However, I have to agree with you regarding the number of grammatical errors. because of these errors, I will be skipping the book. Thanks for the review though! :tiphat:

This novel is about "someone who would stand for what he believed is true and impartial." A well written book about a young man and his hobby of collecting boxes and, a well written book review. Congratulations on the BOTD!

It's my first time to come across a story about boxes. It piqued my interest. I wonder how the author took a small concept into a big novel. I would like to explore it. Thanks for the review. Congrats on BOTD!

Well, you were definitely right about the errors in this book. I wanted to like it, but I just can't get past bad editing. Thank you for your review, and congratulations on Book of the Day!

While I enjoy mystery novels, I did not find the plot of this book that intriguing. But I might pick it up to know more about the price that the protagonist has to pay to avail the powers of the box. Great job on the review.

A boy that collects boxes and finds a magical box that sweeps him into a great adventure with his friends and dog sounds intriguing. That the book takes place in the 1940s also adds to the interest. Add to that humor, vivid scenes, and a colorful cast and you get a great book. Too bad about the grammatical errors, though. Hopefully, the author will fix those in the next edition. I like that the author is not preachy, but themes of racism and animal violence are not to my taste. I also dislike a cliffhanger ending, so I am not sure it is for me. Thank you for the review.

This sounds like an interesting story and I'm curious as to what kind of outcome the mysterious box presents, but I also think that the large amount of errors throughout the book would be a huge distraction for me and I'm not really interested in spending time reading a book that leaves the reader with a cliffhanger. Thank you for the informative review.

A great story full of adventure, humour, suspense, and mystery. The author brings Mick and his friends to life delivering a fascinating story that conveyed the importance of having good values, family and friends in one’s life. This YA story will definitely appeal to many after a good round of editing. What a wonderful review!

The main character' s hobby of collecting boxes of different kinds is amusing. The writing style of the author which is infusion of humour in almost all of the pages draw me to this book. Curiously, what is inside that box he found in the carnival? Why would this put his family endanger? This is definitely a good book except for some grammar errors which I think can be easily resolved with another round of editing. This is definitely a good read for me.Congrats BOTD!
