Ironing by Navajo is a book focused on three talkative college girls on a bus headed to east London. Emma, Royanda, and Ginie are on their way to the greyhound racing center, and on the way, they complain about their typical everyday problems, with the interruptions of multiple strangers on that bus. The book also mentions the story of Ahmed, Peter, and Tomas, who dump Royanda by wassup. Mr. and Mrs. Huefara, a Pakistani/English Muslim family whose daughter gets engaged to a non-muslim Englishman named Greg. Mr. Campbell, a college teacher who is almost robbed by an ex-student of his. Yu Yan, a Chinese exchange student who is still getting used to English and British slang. Caitlin and her disastrous online dating life, and many others.

What I liked about the book was how related it was to real-life issues. The author has managed to portray the social problems every type of person could have, from college girls and their dating and boy problems to their relationships with their parents. Teachers and the stress they have from work. Single women and the urge they have to find a partner. College boys and their constant thoughts of drugs and sex. and many other social problems.

What I didn't like was the writing style; it was too scattered and didn't have a structure. The stories were not connected or related, but the author kept jumping from one story to another in random ways. Sometimes there has to be a name mentioned for you to realize that he is talking about another story. Also, there were many characters that were mentioned but served no apparent benefit. They only made me lose focus on the reading and get confused about why they were there in the first place. The same thing goes for some actions; they were needlessly shoved into the book and turned into a bog pile of unrelated, unnecessary words.

I would rate this book a 1 out of 4. It was completely out of order, the stories didn't have any meaning or depth, some of them ended abruptly with no answer to their ending, which made me not relate to the stories or the book whatsoever. It was also unprofessionally edited because I found many mistakes and repetitions. The book also contains a lot of unnecessary profanity and depictions of sexual acts.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone because, for me, it was a waste of time and effort. The negative aspects of it outweighed the positive ones so much that I would recommend against it.
