Haunted by her childhood incident, Brooke devoted her life to piloting, the dream which was initiated by her father. She did it as a way to repay her sins for killing him. The sad/good thing is that she discovered an illegal way of flying like no one else could. Beyond Cloud Nine (Beyond Saga Book 1) by Greg Spry is a work of scientific fiction about the future.

Brooke Davies is a competent pilot, working as an Aerospace Defence pilot for the UN Luminosity Defense Force. The job she was much proud of. But she also developed an interest in being the first person to fly faster than light, the opportunity she was enthusiastically wishing for. The year is 2247, and Brooke is on Duty on Jupiter, manning the UN's project luminosity, the project which was threatened by separatists who were believed to be the Greys, working against the UN's solar system luminosity projects. On this day, March the third, Brooke confronted the Intruders and was surprised to find two former UN workers, with the greys. This discovery brought a question to her attention about who might be working with the greys. But when she tried to raise a concern about it to her superior, she was silenced and ordered to go back to earth on forced leave until further notice. Who are the greys, how far can Brooke go to find out who was working with the greys, and for what interest? Back on earth, Marie Davies is a prodigy journalist working for Chicago VidStreamer as a reporter. But her wish was to go to Dryden Advanced Propulsion Research center. Back on earth and being United with her twin sister, it took Brooke by surprise to receive the news that she was to be picked up for the fly faster than light candidacy program. The opportunity that she was accorded and had the chance to fly alongside Marie her sister later on.

This is one of the hard-to-put-down action-packed novels. What I liked most is Grey Spry's story narrating style which is engaging and gave a live touch to the book. The character development is also outstanding. The author used many characters, and they all played significant roles throughout the novel. Even though I liked Brooke's determined personality, which made her come out of any danger victoriously, my favorite character was Kevin because of his sincere personality. It touched my heart how the inverter of the faster than light phase, developed an interest in Brooke to the extent of being the only one standing by her side to help even in the almost impossible situation, which General Collins orchestrated to eliminate her. The one thing I disliked was the demise of Marie. I liked her free-spirited character and her death infused negative emotions in me. What is it that made Brooke an outstanding pilot?

I found no error in this book Beyond Cloud Nine (Beyond Saga) giving me a reason to say that it was exceptionally well-edited.

In closing, I rate this book four out of four stars because of the above-said reasons. And I recommend it to sci-fi, adventure, and action thriller fans. None-fiction fans and those who are not interested in the said genres or those who find death content to be disturbing can skip this one.
