Review of Days of the Giants
Ideas normally are the foundations for progress and development, but ill conceived notions bear much negative fruit each with its repercussions. The heads of institutions both willingly and unwillingly partake in corrupt practices with the end game of hitting it big, not minding the adverse effects of their decision on the people in general, but a few slips eventually ruin both their plan and reputation. Slater Barnes has no idea what life has in store for him and the crucial role he will play in his place of work, he never anticipated the betrayal and deceit that was to occur, coupled with the death of one so admired not once but twice all because of the ill motives of a few upper placed individuals. While struggling to determine his choice of career and its outcomes, his better half to be, his best friend and even his reverenced boss will be experiencing bittersweet circumstances that will forever shape the lives of Boston City Hospital, its management, patients, medical participants and the entire city including Slater Barnes.
Days of the Giants by RJ Petrella is a thriller, romantic, action and suspense filled piece with each theme creatively, concisely and clearly depicted at various points within the book. The 'back and forth' accounts of Slater Barnes and other characters is written with a narrative style that is simple and strategically placed, while trying to include the reader's participation with well placed remarks and gestures. It is captivating even in the end.
The book was easy to comprehend and follow, though I found the ending unsatisfying as I would have loved to have more content with regards the characters involved.
The book was well edited, with no errors. I enjoyed going through the book and my rating is a 4 out of 4 as it was quite captivating.
I recommend the book to action and romantically inclined readers as the book has a good quantity of each theme though its not limited to these themes only.
