In Terror to Triumph, Chris Whittemore, the author, an ex-Marine himself, recounts his experiences while serving his country. He tells us about his harrowing experiences in Iraq, Afghanistan, and even the United States of America. He describes how he has lost many comrades. This book provides more insight into the way of life of the Marines and what they go through. It also highlights the injustices that are meted out to them, which is very bad because they sacrifice a lot for the safety of others.

In reality, men and women sign up to become Marines just for the love of their countries. They opt to risk their lives so that other citizens would be safe. Read this fantastic book to know everything about being a Marine.

This book has many positive aspects that must be highlighted. Let's start with the fact that this book exists in the first place. Information is power, and it is good that this book is available because it informs and puts things into perspective for the readers. It will serve to make people appreciate the value of the Marines. Also, I liked the author's way of saying what he felt and not mincing words, whether it came to his shortcomings or that of others. He said it as it is, which is good. We learn about what the marines go through during their service and after that. The struggle is real, and some succumb to it, so they are pulled under. The author, despite facing all he did, was able to pull through. That is all thanks to his strong support system, his wife. Honestly, I believe she is a superwoman. She is a resilient person. She was very supportive, and that was another thing I loved about the book. It was the best thing about this book. Finally, I found no errors in the book, which means that it was well edited.

However, this book has its flaws. While reading the book, I detected disdain for Muslims from the author. I believe that the issues the author pointed out go both ways. Instead, the author should have focused on the insurgents for what they are and not for what religious groups they belong to. Although most terrorist sects are predominantly Muslims, not all of Muslims are bad. I encourage the author to review some parts of this book.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it was an excellent book. I did not give the book a higher rating because of its negative aspect, which I believe cannot be overlooked.

I recommend this book to everyone above the age of seventeen. It may not be suitable for people below the specified age because of the gory descriptions of death and violence in the book.

Nice, concise and detailed review. I love reading war memoirs, both modern and ancient. Will certainly want to give this a read despite the negative aspect.

In my opinion, recounting of experience always helps the younger folk to prepare for the things ahead of them. Although there are flaws, I think it would be a good read for me nonetheless. Thanks for your review.

title: Terror to Triumph
The author emphasis his life in the army family with full of adventures and hardship face, which is relevant to most arm forces on duty.
It is true that one needs to be strong enough to place your duty first than your family matters.
So this novel not only talks about marines life but also how non arm forces can be strong enough to pull out from darkness and find their motive to live ...

In this novel you can find that the authors wife being supportive and understanding despite all the struggle she had to face along with her husband..
So I recommend this novel to be read by all because we individual have to known that arm forces are ones country's shield and respecting their work is our support towards them..
This novel do have flaws like assuming whole muslim as a bad. However this novel contain many positive experience and its a personal journey ,readers who are more into adventures will love to read it...

Isn't patriotism just beautiful? These comrades deserve way more accolades than they are given.

Great review.

Texts by military veterans offer a unique insight into the inner workings of a combat scenario. Such insights are missed by us civilians, but these texts let us get a small glimpse at it. Definitely interested to read this book!

I enjoy reading book written by military veterans however, the author could have tried to do away with the seeming disdain for Muslims.
