Diving into the lives of an ordinary immigrant family might not seem that interesting. Nevertheless, the book is a preserve of a story that needs to be told.Looking forward to reading the book.

This book is a non-fiction the accounts of the first migrants Murray family members and friends. It involves a mystery, crime, politics, death, and industrial struggle. More than three generations. A well written book and a good book review. Congratulations on the BOTD!

I like historical fiction, it would be interesting to read about the early 19th century. However, I wouldn't want to read about every member of the Murray family especially if there is no context. Thanks for your review.

Thanks for the great review! It made me want to read more than the sample, which was interesting enough. Though I am a fan of historical non-fiction, I couldn't say I liked the style. However, the style fits the fast-paced story, so...good job!

I usually stay away from historical fictions and this is a non fiction. Although it contains all the elements I enjoy and another thing that works in its favor is it short length. So I wouldn't mind giving this book a try. Congrats on BOTD.

I have always liked family history. The book is about one Irish family and their life’s journey spanning a period of time. It talks about immigration and the different experiences of this Irish family that immigrate to the USA. Because there seems to be many people in this family, I expect a lot of interesting plots. Hope to read this and immerse myself in history and adventure of the Murray family and some events of the time.

Reading this review you realize how difficult life was for immigrants to New York in the 19th century but also how they had the opportunities to improve which the lacked in their homeland. This chronicle of the members of an Irish family lokks intruiguing and worth reading.

It will be interesting to find out how William escaped a war-torn nation and rebuilt his life in a new land. I'm also looking forward to reading about the history of the printing press and playing cards.

Honestly, I am not one for non-fiction except it has to do with celebrated events, occurrences and the famous. This apparently falls outside that category. Nonetheless, the review is quite informative. I will take my interests elsewhere.

I am going to have a lot of fun reading COLOR. The history of Murray's family got my attention. The mystery part of the book got me super excited especially the part where Murray was declared dead in the war. This is a Must read book for me

This sounds like an intriguing book! I am curious about William Murray and why it was said he was killed in the Army only to find out he wasn't in the Army, and he wasn't dead! Thanks for the terrific review!
