I like that this is a true story with a bit of mystery to it. I might give the sample a go.

It reminds me of Cloth by Elizabeth Anderson. Both of them are historical non-fiction, but it is interesting to know that colors has a mystical touch. This review is apt.

I’m going to start complaining about the length of this story; too short! It has a lot of history, which is my favourite subject, but also packs politics and other issues. Plus, you note it’s written plainly. What’s not to like?

I'm in desperate need of a suspenseful and mysterious historical nonfiction novel right now. I pity the boy who had to drop out of school at the age of ten in order to support his family. Unfortunately, many countries with child-headed families face this unfortunate reality. I'm intrigued. Congratulations on winning #BOTD!

Although I am personally not interested in historical stories, I am sure that this family has lived through some important events, which will make this book an interesting read for history lovers.

This book seems certainly fascinating. It makes me want to know more of what actually happened to William Murray. Moreover, I am touched by the Murray family's account of their struggles as poor immigrants in the US. This is also a very interesting review, thank you for it.

A non-fiction story coupled with a dash of suspense seems like an exciting read to me. Its not everyday I come across Irish inspired books. Therefore I'm going to give this book a try. Congratulations on BOTD.

History isn't a genre that I like reading due to how dry the material can be. This family memoir sounds interesting, with the origins of playing cards intertwined with family history. Good review.

Immigrants, repatriates, refugees - are all the same in my opinion. Any and all are stories of tragedies and grief, forcing people to undergo drastic changes in their lives. Sorry to say, but I prefer to avoid such tales in my readings.

I love how this book depicts the realities of immigration. That the grass is not always greener on the other side. The people are totally unaware of what awaits them and how they are going to deal with it. I would like to read this book further to find out more about the mystery surrounding William Murray.

Based on the review, I can tell this book has a great storyline and has a whole lot of suspense. Historical fiction piques my interest so I'm sure to try it out. And learning about how the printing press production works along with cards, I'm sure to add this book to my library

This is an interesting non-fiction memoir highlighting a genuine account of an Irish immigrant family starting from 1823 till now. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.
