This seems to be a great book that details the life of Irish immigrants. It is amazing that there is a long line of ancestors that can tell the story; there seems to be more than one true author in this title. Thanks for the review!

My mom loves genealogy, and you’d be surprised how many families have mysteries like the one in this book—and names repeated over and over. Also, the Irish are one of many groups that were treated shamelessly once they came to America, and I imagine that this book reflects that, given the time period. The review mentions some parts needing to be expanded upon, but I know how hard it can be to get the documentation needed to fill in the holes in genealogical research, so I don’t think it would bother me in this kind of book. Thank you for the helpful review.

The story about this Irish immigrant family seems appealing. It is pleasant to learn about historical events that are unknown to most. Also, the mystery of why William Murray was not killed in the War of Gettysburg and did not even enlist in it is interesting.

This non-fiction book tells the story of a generation of Irish immigrants who went to the US 1800s. The story of the Murrays will teach us about history and engage us with a little bit of mystery. Congrats on botd!

I love reading family sagas because they tackle many things, ranging from love and romance to mystery and death. What happened to William Murray? How will this family of poor Irish immigrants manage in the New World? Thanks for your review!

This book tells an extraordinary story. starting from the countless stories that have ties to Irish immigration. Lots of history, some mysteries as well as living culture in families, immigration and traditions. It's great fun to learn about historical events that most people don't know about..a book I enjoyed.
