This book combines family and history, two themes that I enjoy reading (about) in stories, and there's a lot to learn from Trudy's family's experiences, too. Thanks for another wonderful review!

Sounds extremely appealing. Historical books and memoirs are really enjoyable. One learns a lot from experiences of others. Great review.

It seems like the author created a very insightful book. The fact that I live in the Eastern Europe makes it even more appealing. Thank you for this wonderful recommendation!

I found in this book another example of how family, faith, and community can help one endure very hard times. I appreciate your kind comment. Thank you for taking the time to stop by!

Thank you for another excellent review. :tiphat:
I too am fascinated by stories of immigration. I am amazed by the similarities in experiences despite the different circumstances around the decision to move.

We really do learn a lot from experiences of others. I can appreciate history so much more when I connect to the person living it.

I learned a lot about Eastern Europe. I can tell the settings of the books I have read by the screen shots of maps on my phone. :)

I was never a fan of history when I was in school, but adding the family connection, like in this memoir, makes history so much more interesting.

Thank you for your visit and kind comment, C Janet! :greetings-waveyellow:

I do read memoirs whenever I get a chance, but it's mention of narration from different point of views that has gotten me really interested.
Thanks for a great recommendation!

I love reading memoires. The book delves into the life of the author after their immigration to the united states after world war 2. There is a lot to gain from reading this book, and I'd love to read it. Thanks for your review.

I don't read a lot of memoirs either, but I do enjoy ones about experiences I'd like to learn more about. There are so many stories from so many perspectives around World War II alone!
Thank you for stopping by.
