Thanks for your review. It's true that there are not many tales of the Vietnam War told by black soldiers, so I hope this book will create a difference.

I think that this is a well-written historical book, if only the editing was better, this could be a phenomenal experience. Thank you so much for the review, however!

It is good that this short book offers a different perspective on the conflict in Vietnam. It must have been a difficult time, though I expect learning to speak the language helped the author get to know the Vietnamese people on a deeper level.

This is an inspirational nonfiction memoir highlighting an account of the time the author spent in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.

As someone who enjoys historical non-ficition, and since a book is based on a true story, I will gladly give it a chance. Thanks for an informative review.

My Enemy in Vietnam is a memoir that details the events during the Vietnam war. Despite the rich sources of information concerning the conflict, this novel offers a unique perspective seen through the eyes of the author. Congrats on being BOTD.

It must have been a great story if it held your attention for so long. I'm not much of a war story reader. I think I will pass on this one. Great review.

I usually don't like reading about wars, but I liked that this book focuses more on the social history aspect of the war. I was also impressed that he learned Vietnamese. Sadly, you're right on the fact that not many accounts of the Vietnam War are told by non whites. In fact, I think this is the first book of the Vietnam War I've come across written by a black soldier. I think I'll definitely be taking a look at this book.

Sounds like an interesting book about one person's perspective on racism during the Vietnam War. Thank you for your review.

This seems like an interesting book about the Vietnam War as it was written with a very personal perspective that can offer a different view of that war adding a layer that generally is ignored. Thank you for your great review!

Definitely, no. And not just because I try to avoid reading non-fiction wherever I can as my most disliked genre, but mostly because subject matter sounds horrible to my ears as anything related to war should to a sane person. Apologies, but I will have to pass it and still congrats on BOTD!

I really like short books, especially the ones that pertain to history. they do explain a lot of what happened something people in general also don't know about. I will definitely read this book!! thank you for the review.

Although reading this book from a more personal perspective, I had the same enjoyment of the author’s stories as you did. Thank you for your thorough and honest review.

This sounds different from the typical war stories as this tackles the issue of racism within the ranks. I would like to read this. Thanks for your review.
