Strong Heart is the story of a Native American girl who gets to find out her past life. She has batshit crazy step-dad that hates her, and all that remains is her grandfather after her last surviving parent died. The pair meet up with two family friends and go on a deep hike into the Pacific Northwest. Sarah, the granddaughter, heads deep into the forest where she interacts with an extinct species known as the short faced bear. It also doesn't stop there! We learn more about the story as time progresses, and Sarah sees deep into her past life.

I really liked the style of this novel. I think Charlie Sheldon did a great job in terms of historical detail and his research. If you are somebody, like me who really enjoys historical fiction then this is a must read! It also is great if you are interested in Native American literature and the land-bridge hypothesis. I give it 4 out of 4!
