This book has really encouraged me and given me a strength to walk through this journey year 2022 because Meg herself despite being belittled by others, her mother showed her love and every time calling a beautiful daughter so inspired her and made her move on with life.

This book is a sad story of the love between a daughter and her mother. The author/daughter tells the story that runs for 12 years through 2020 about her mom that called her one day to tell her she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Meg was devastated by this phone call and the ensuing battle with her mom's breast cancer was an awakening for her and she fought her way through the grief and became a much stronger person because of it. People deal with the death of a loved one in different ways. While this type of book is helpful for readers it is not an easy book to read. Very good review.

It's a painful thing to hope not to lose a loved one and still end up losing them. Meg seems like a very strong person and I already love her character.

This sounds like an inspiring book dealing with grief and how to navigate life after. I will be passing. I have managed to find my own path through grief as I've dealt with a great deal of it. Great review

Meg was bullied during her childhood days. But her mother acted as her support system and made her realise her own worth. She thrived under her mother's care but later lost her to breast cancer. Will she overcome this? Congratulations on BOTD!

The very well written and I got a clear understanding of the book and what the author tried to portrait. Greif is something we all experience and to grow from that takes alot :tiphat:

We deal with grief in different ways. Sometimes, we are ashamed to speak of the clandestine things we do to handle the loss of a loved one. I can relate to this because I've been there more times than one. However, I applaud the author for the courage to let the world know of her struggles with grief. I belief someone out there will get a thing or two to help them in their moments of grief.

Thank you so much for writing this review! I am definitely interested in reading this book. It is incredibly hard to cope with loss and be able to continue to grow from it, but the loss of something is often one of the most important times in someone's development. The fact that I have found this review feels really telling given my own struggles with losing people as well

I can’t imagine losing someone as important to one’s life as Meg’s mother seemed to be to hers. My mom’s the strongest pillar in my life; I’d be totally lost without her. It was bad enough losing my grandpa to leukemia. This book should help others going through similar situations. I also hope the author found writing the memoir cathartic in addition to the journey to recovery she went through beforehand. Thank you for the helpful review.

The death of a loved one - especially a parent - can take a rough toll on anyone and it makes you re-evaluate your life. I cannot wait to read this book and follow Meg's journey and her healing process through death. Congrats on being BOTD!
