This book is ancient historical fiction set in Rome. A young ambitious man named Lucius wants to advance politically in the state and he needs Emperor Augustus Caeser's sponsorship but his father Lullus has committed adultry with Caeser's daughter Julia. Caeser fears Lullus want to overthrow him so this makes sponsorship for Lucius very difficult. One has to read the book to find out what happens. Very good review.

I was very interested to read this book since it intersects politics and love in ancient Rome. It sounds very interesting! Two Faces of Janus seems to be very well written and straightforward, from what the review indicates.
