Review of E M P Honeymoon
Following the recent finding of a threatening and prospective terrorist attack on the nation's electrical system after a live interview with a nuclear physics professor, the United States now has a lot to deal with.
Senator Mike McBride's sister, Kelly, and her husband, Tom Turbulo, embark on their honeymoon to the Caribbean Island in Honduras following their wedding. Kelly goes shopping on one of Tom's expeditions until she finds out about a sinister plot on the North American electrical grid in one of the gift shops she visits, and she becomes suspicious. These people pursue her until she manages to flee.
On the other hand, some soldiers set on a secret mission of terrorizing the United States while appearing as a tourist, following extensive training and physical modifications. Will they be successful? Will the United States of America perish? Will their civilization's survival be jeopardized?
Dorothy May Mercer's E M P Honeymoon is a crime fiction thriller that had me interested till the finish. I liked it much more because I listened to Scott Ellis read it on Audible. The narrator read with grace, aptness and precision in particular. There was also a pause for applause in the middle of the narration. All of these factors contributed to the story's realism and relatability. More importantly, I enjoyed the author's character connections and continuity with her previous books. This solidified my attachment to the story even more. In addition, the author blended metaphorical sayings into her narrative, which enhanced the beauty of her story.
I also appreciated how the story educated me on newer and more diverse methods of terrorist propagation, which was interesting. I particularly enjoyed one of the characters' quick and incisive analysis of one of the terrorists' strange behaviour as suspicious. Most importantly, I like the connection between some of the story's characters, such as Steve and Agatha, as well as, the characters' and government agencies' united cooperation. She also provided hilarious moments for the readers, which were adored.
I have no reason not to give the novel a 4 out of 4 stars rating. This is because of the story's simplicity, immaculate beauty and great narration. The author's narration was so amazing that you couldn't help but wonder how good it was and hope it didn't stop. With a well-defined and developed plot, the book is well-written and properly edited.
This is a book I would recommend to persons interested in technology and military tactical combat, as well as, physics students and action fans. This is because it is intriguing and gives them a better understanding of both terrorism and physics. There is no sexual content in the book, and there is less vulgarity.
