I think it will be a good book for people who love poems and who are interested in reading poems.

I can't believe we need a book to explain how to understand poetry 😂 Not that I understand all of it, I just thought this should be explained in school. Nevertheless, I think a lot would still benefit from this book. I'm pretty sure there are people out there who would want to understand poetry better. Thanks.

Making Sense of Poetry, by Rex W. Last is a non fiction book that describes poetry and it's complexities in simple terms. The author includes the 12 commandments of poetry as a guide in understanding poetry. This book is very educational and updated regularly.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I’m not particularly interested in learning more about how to understand poetry, so I think I will give this one a pass.

It's good to hear that the author thinks that people often find it boring and I like the fact that the author made such a great effort to give knowledge of interpreting and understanding the poetry, I'm sure people will enjoy the poetry after reading this book!

I've always found poetry to be a little difficult, so this book will help me a lot. Congrats on BOTD!

Poetry can be complex. A book that expounds on that can be quite helpful. Great review

Thanks for a well-detailed review. I'm not also a lover of poetry but, this is worth giving a try. Kudos to the author.

This book helped me to comprehend poetry and the meaning of some texts similar to some I read before. It was like the verse had no reel sense for some and like the authors just put together words that did not know what they do near each other just to make ryme and rythm in their poem. But not all :D Sometimes it was like the authors want to express something but it is not clearly expressed and blocked in another words so that I used to read those poems without understanding them but just for homeworks :?

But with how the authorof this book explains it it helpme to understand that not all authors put words together just to make it sound good but with nothing inside. Also the parallel with music (I think I see it during my lecture) is welcome because in nowadays music poem used to be put in the construction of text, maybe with more prosis than poetry.

The exercises present in the book really help to understand poetry in his usage.

I want to thank you for the review as me I was just abble to read the sample.

Although poetry is not really my forte, a good introduction to one will be good. I am sure this book will teach me and explain a lot of poetry complexities to me according to your review. Thanks for the review.

This book serves as a guide on understanding and interpreting poems. I rarely am fascinated by poems, so perhaps I might read this book. It’s a good thing that the author incorporates a bit of humor into this. Sounds promising.
