The Date Farm by Jack Winnick is a fiction military/crime novel based in the Middle East. This is the fourth book in the Uri and Lara series and picks up right where Devil in False Colors left off. Uri and Lara have been married and working in Israel with no problems. While on a quick vacation in Ohio to visit her family, they are called to L.A. to work a case involving a massacre. This is just the beginning of their journey. After an attack and hostage situation in New York City, the pair goes undercover to recover stolen items from NYC. With many twists and turns, along the way, will they make it home this time??

For me, there are only positives in this book. Jack Winnick once again does an incredible job with detail and descriptions. In this book, I also feel like the attention on the bad guy's stories were cut down drastically, and this improved the overall quality and readability of the book. I also want to mention that in Devil in False Colors, I had a hard time keeping all the main characters names correct, because of their authenticity, and this time, there were not nearly as many names to keep track of. This is a huge win for me as well. Compared to the other Uri and Lara books I have read (Devil Among Us and Devil in False Colors), the amount of spelling and grammar issues were completely eradicated. I did not find a single issue with either of these, meaning it was professionally edited.

I do not have a single negative to put in this review. Jack Winnick was able to fix issues that I had with his other books and make this my favorite so far. With his other books I was really picky about how I judged them, and this one I went into reading the same way and was just so happy with the results. Unlike his other books, I was able to keep names straight, I did not find a single error, and the storyline was even better than the others.

I would give this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I truly loved this book from cover to cover. I once again wished there was even more to this book because of how well it flowed from start to finish. I am excited to start his next book in this series and go back and read the first book. Even though I had issues with Devil Among Us, the last two books have made up for that. Jack Winnick knows how to make an interesting and detailed military/crime novel.

My recommended audience would be anyone who has a love for military/crime novels. I would also recommend this book to anyone who likes spy novels or the alike because there are some aspects in my opinion that could fall into that category as well. Also, mystery novel lovers could love this book because most of the time you cannot guess what is going to happen next. Unlike his other novels I have read, there are very few sex scenes with no descriptions, and there is very little foul language as well. This book is still somewhat gory and detailed in those aspects, but it is not as bad as his others. The appropriate age for reading this book would need to be at least the age of 12. I will note that there are a lot of things that happen in New York City and though it has been over 20 years since 9/11, this date and attacks do get mentioned from time to time and some pretty intense action goes down right around the same area and this could be a trigger for those with PTSD from 9/11 or just anyone who has a deep connection to this attack.
