This is the first time I am hearing about "The peace corpse program".Also as an individual who is intrested in such programs but isn't quite well informed about the way these programs affect our daily life or how the life of people who volunteer for these programs are.
I am quite looking forward to read this book.
Also looking forward to reading how the author found love amidst all that!😊

I am not aware of the program, but I believe it's something worth knowing. Am just glad that the author finds love and found a way to over come bitterness

This memoir has some intriguing stories, particularly the international romance part for me. This book would be great for anyone who enjoys true stories!

Memoirs are not my cup of tea but I've read the review and should say that the book sounds pretty interesting and very informative. It helps to overcome bitter and hurting emotions, helps to learn a new language quickly and easily and some more interesting things. I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I was not aware of this program as well. This review portrays the book in a captivating light. I wonder if love was able to win in the end after all. I can't wait to find out.

I am always drawn to books that deal with topics I know very little about. This is one of those topics. Too bad for the errors otherwise seems like an excellent book. Great job with the review.

The sample I read describes the author's involvement in The Peace Core teaching farming methods to developing countries and the English language. The author joined The Peace Core to avoid being drafted into the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War was a civil war between North Vietnam and South Vietnam, and many Americans had Conscious Objections to fighting.

An interesting account presented by the author of life in Thailand, politics and all. Fascinating to see the fight between his home country and adopted country; the USA

I'm not a huge fan of non-fiction so I'll probably be skipping this book, but it does sound like a good read for its target audience.

Sounds like an interesting memoir. However, I am not one to read memoirs of regular people. Furthermore, I am not certain the reviewer did proper justice to the book, especially not with the several conspicuous grammatical errors in the review.

I don't read this kind of books but, am interested to know if the author's falling in love kept him where he didn't like to live. Thanks for an honest review.

This sounds like a testimony of how life never follows the plans we make. The bit of history as experienced by a volunteer peacekeeper makes this memoir informative to the ordinary man. Great review.
