The Peace Corp was very popular in the the 1960s but I am not sure if it was an option to avoid military service in Viet Nam. This is an iteresting memoir that the author shares about his time in southeast Asia. The author's time was up but he fell in love with a Thai girl that complicated his service. One needs to read the book to find out what happens. Good review.

I must say, memoirs like this don’t really interest me much. However, I like your enthusiasm for this book, and really appreciate your encouraging words. Many thanks for an excellent review.

'Official Review: Nakhon Phanom' by James I. Jouppi has a clear introduction! It explores all the important points related to the book about the author's experiences as a volunteer in the 'Peace Corps Program'. The point that the memoir incorporates chapters dedicated to discussing the heartwarming themes of lost love, culture, friendship, adventure, and hard work is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that the author used illustrative pictures to emphasize some events, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that the memoir serves two essential purposes of educating and entertaining!

I like reading books that are entertaining and at the same time entertaining. I’m looking forward to digging into this book to learn about the Peace Corps and the natural approach to learning new language. These are very interesting topics in a book.

Thank you for your review. Normally I don't read memoirs but this one seems to be more than just a memoir. The author's instruction on the Peace Corps and his struggles with different languages and customs are very interesting. Congratulations on BOTD!

The theme where the story revolves is new to me. Dedication is needed in such program, and I honestly can't comprehend how they handle all that heavy struggles. Maybe I'll read this one if it gets another round of editing. Thanks for the review.

The book sounds like it has quite a bit to offer. Unfortunately, I am not a giant fan of nonfiction. Therefore, I will be passing.
