The Natural Language Approach program sounds like a practical way of learning a language. And, thanks to author James I. Jouppi for sharing his experiences through this wonderful memoir.

I've never heard of Peace Corps Program before. This would be an interesting read, I think.

There is a saying that goes “experience is the best teacher.” This book shares the experiences of the author as a volunteer in the "Peace Corps”Program. One would definitely learn a lot from his experiences.

Thank you for such a great review. You have touched so many good points and helped us see that we need to read the story. I did enjoy some of the lists and a few reading pages from the sample pages.

Memoirs are always a good avenue for authors to share their experiences with readers. I'm sure there's much to learn from the author.

I'm not a big fan of memoirs or the Peace Corps, so I'm most likely not going to this book.
Nonetheless, congratulations, BOTD.

The author's romantic experience reminds me of my own. Being in an interracial relationship, I'm interested in learning about the techniques on how to learn a new language. This book may help me with that. The Peace Corps Program sounds like a humanitarian activity. As a Southeast Asian, I'm also interested about the life in Thailand. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Well the answer is yes! I really do enjoy memoirs and stories about engaging on a mission. Also, I would love to try the Automatic Language Growth approach discussed in this book.
Congratulations on your BOTD dear
