From Sabah Putrus and his 12th grade friend Balal Al-Anee to Jane Kilgore versus Hamdia Qubbani both women connected to Sabbah's private life in Syria, Mr Jemil Metti concocts a rich mix of characters and places that promises a compelling read. I will surely read this novel ASAP. Good review.

I read the first few chapters, and although the author has created some excellent characters, this isn't my kind of story. Nevertheless, congratulations to the author on a job well done and achieving BOTD.

Thank you for your review. This sounds like an action-packed novel that brings the reality of life in Syrian and the surrounding areas and the cultural expectations. The difficulties that people face are not understood or appreciated by the western world. Congratulations on BOTD!

A sometimes naive and trusting character as the protagonist of a political thriller. I think I'll love to read this book.

Reading the sample of the book and the review, it seems a bit incredible to know that Sabah's entire life was altered by the events that occurred due to a few moments of curiosity. I wonder what happened in his life later on.

The sample was interesting, yet I found difficulty in reading the names...but the review convinced me that the novel is worth reading, as it is very much connected to the present-day issues of war, refugees, and politics. Probably the best review I have read here!

Your review is quite compelling, and now I'm interested in reading this book. I find the storyline between Sabah and Jalal intriguing and want to know more about Hamdia Quabbani, the Syrian refugee.

This novel sounds fascinating. The book is filled with political, espionage, action, and adventure through the life of Sabah. I’m curious about how the teacher is blackmailed and how Sabah got caught eavesdropping. Who does Sabah choose between the two girls from America and Syria, and why? Thank you for such an informative review.

I think I would definitely love this book. I have always enjoyed watching Syrian documentaries and to find it in the form of a book, especially with strong female characters put in the mix is great. I would grab this whenever possible, definitely my type of book.
