Favourite book quotes

Post by anita blake »

It has become popular for some authors to trade other merchandise such as T.Shirts with quotes from their books.
After seeing how huge the Laurell K Hamilton store had become it started me thinking what would be the quote I would use.
The following has to be one of my all time favourite quotes, especially when I was feeling lousy when reading it.
Michael Marshall Smith. Spares.

Bodies are great, and I wouldn't go anywhere without mine, but sometimes they're so disappointing. If we mistreated them as badly as we do our minds then everyone would be dead, and yet there they go, complaining all the time. Someone needs to get all our bodies, sit them down, and give them a good talking to.

Why is it that when I'm asked I can never remember any quotes but normally I spill them out in every conversation? I'll think about it.

I'm the same, especially with Anita Blake quotes. So here's a few of my favorites.

One I use a lot
'Can the sarcasm,' he said.
'Please, I always use fresh sarcasm, never canned.'"

- Dolph & Anita

"'Jesus, are all vampires over two hundred perverts?'
'I am over two hundred,' Jean-Claude said.
'I rest my case.'"

- Anita & Jean-Claude
'You sound awful.'
'You don't. You didn't get much more sleep than I did. How come you sound so much better? Please tell me you aren't a morning person.'
He laughed. 'Guilty as charged.'
Furry I could forgive; a morning person, I'd have to think about that."

- Richard & Anita
I really have to agree with her on that lol
I shook my head. Asking Jean-Claude not to be a pain in the ass was like asking rain not to be wet. Why try?"

If you like a character who is sarcastic, grumpy, stubborn and loyal then Anita Blake is for you. I was given the first book 'Guilty Pleasures' and told by my friend "the main character is you if you were a zombie raising slayer" He was very right.

I forgot to credit that. It's from Frank Herbert's Under Pressure.

Glad you credited it. It sounded like such an Eeyore quote

Hey, maybe that's where Mr. Herbert heard it.

When I look back on my childhood I wonder how I survived at all. It was, of course, a miserable childhood: the happy childhood is hardly worth your while. Worse than the ordinary miserable childhood is the miserable Irish childhood, and worse yet is the miserable Irish Catholic childhood.

"Stop," I said. "Please do not further endorken yourself to me. You have great hair and a car that is most fly, and you have just saved me with your mad ninja driving skills, so do not sully your heroic hottie image in my mind by further reciting your nerdy scholastic agenda. Don't tell me what you're studying, Steve, tell me what's in your soul. What haunts you?"

And he was like, "Dude, you need to cut back on the caffeine."
