I don't particularly like reading about family dramas of other people as I believe that life is already difficult enough and feel no need to read about other people's difficulties. However, I do admire authors who share their life stories with their readers.

This is based on true family drama. Unlike chronological narrative, interestingly the story revolves around anchor points throughout. Each anchor seems to mirror the family dynamics and symbolism of the author's subconscious mind. Powerful and sometimes very painful emotions of childhood, pubescence, college days, so on so forth leave lasting impression. An intriguing book and a good book review.. Congratulations on the BOTD!

It takes a lot of courage to come forward and talk about sexual abuse with the people who are close to you let alone write about it for everyone to read. I find the author's strength commendable. This comes across as an inspirational story and I hope we all learn something from it.

I must say that, I commend the courage of the author to share her story in a way that makes it easy for anyone to understand what she had been through.

It sounds like a story that anyone would enjoy reading,so I'm definitely going to give it a try.

A heart-grabbing memoir, "The Part That Burns" by Jeannine Ouellette, which can make us feel as if being teleported to an another time and place. I love such books.

I'm not a big fan of memoirs especially emotional ones so I'll pass. Surely many other readers will find the story interesting though.

The review on the cover of the book is so adorable. I just wish it didn't have the profane language in the title of the book for younger/less vulgar readers. Congratuations on book of the day!

It sounds like a gripping and detailed memoir about the trauma one woman experienced while growing up. I love memoirs, and I especially love to read ones that aren't necessarily in chronological order—looking forward to adding this one to my list. Thanks for the lovely review.
