A weird teacher reminds his class of an upcoming exam the next day. This seems to make some of them nervous. Not all the students seem to enjoy his class, especially Ron and Bing. That night, a sudden mysterious power outage brings their entire town to a stop. It brings with it an unexpected mystery that needs to be solved. Alongside it, so many questions go through people's minds. What is causing this power outage? Or, who is behind it?

Ron and his brother, Bing, along with their friends, were interrupted by this unforeseen power failure. With their tests the next day and their teacher, Mr. Brom, predicting horrible performances for them, they are tasked with finding out what caused this power failure. However, they were not prepared for the discoveries ahead.

One negative side of this book was that I was not given enough time to enjoy it. I felt some characters were either not properly developed, or the author did not shed light on their activities. I had so many questions left unanswered by the time I was done with this book. Also, Kaitlyn could have been of better use in some instances. It also felt like Mr. Brom's behavior was too unreal. The author painted him in a way that would be difficult to relate to in real life.

A positive side of the book I spotted was the author's use of humor. Despite the serious situations at times, the author was able to infuse humor into this book. I enjoyed the songs they composed. For someone like me, who was in the band in my childhood days, I felt a warm connection with the band. I also liked Kaitlyn's membership in the band. It broke the bias of school bands being for just boys.

I could not find any obvious grammatical errors in this book. The author ensured that this book was exceptionally well edited. With that in mind, I will give this book a rating of four out of four stars. The reason is not far-fetched; this book offered me an escape from reality into the world of J.R.R.R (Jim) Hardison's Demon Freaks. I could imagine myself in the book.

I am a fan of horror fiction books, so this book is recommended to people like me who enjoy reading horror books. That said, you already know some of what to expect while reading this book, and I am sure any reader would have an amazing time reading this book.
