This sounds like an interesting crime thriller that will keep readers guessing and wanting more. I like that it can be read as a standalone. I'm a bit confused by some things in your review, though.

The title gets the reader thrilled and curious. Ghosts are known to be harmful, drowning one can be appealing and interesting to me. Crime and horror books are a good choice for me. Thanks for the good review.

If that witch doctor – what a strange thing in this day and age – was an intruder, then van Warring was unnecessarily punished. That name, however, has a bellicose ring to it. Anyway, in spite of that intriguing aspect of the book and the intricate plot you describe, I still can’t find enthusiasm for it.

I love installments that can stand on their own and still make so much reading sense. The storyline seems inviting. The world of crime and drug abuse is constantly being explored in numerous books, however, I don't think I've come across one that involves voodoo and black magic and sorts. I'll be happy to delve into its pages to learn more. Great review.

Drowning a Ghost: A Cale Van Waring Adventure by Janson Mancheski is a crime thriller book. This is book number 4 of The Chemist series but it can be read as a standalone book. Themes include witch doctors, voodoo, the dark web, child abduction, human trafficking, murder, illegal drugs, mystery, crime, suspense, and romance.
