Review of Seeing with Fresh Eyes
John had many questions about the Christian life and the Christian faith. He searched for the answers to these mysterious questions that clouded his mind and didn't seem to have direct answers. He had questions like, how was he saved? How did the blood of Jesus, the cross, and the resurrection of Christ save him? How and why was there salvation? From what was he saved? These were some of the many questions that bothered John. But through commitment and diligence, John studied the Bible, and this time, he did it from an entirely different point of view. He studied the Bible with fresh eyes. He was no longer just looking. He was now seeing from God's perspective. Did John find answers to these questions?
Seeing with Fresh Eyes: Sin, Salvation, and the Steadfast Love of God by John W. Bullock is a beautiful and inspiring narrative about God and his creation founded on the basics of the Bible. The author didn't just write based on his experiences and perception; he wrote based on the truths of God's word. He also thoroughly studied the original Hebrew words translated into the English language. For example, in Genesis Chapter One, the original word for God translated was "Elohim," meaning “supreme one." Still, in Chapter 2, the word translated was not just "Elohim" but "YHWH Elohim," referring to God as a creator and a loving father. He desires an intimate relationship with men.
Seeing with Fresh Eyes: Sin, Salvation, and the Steadfast Love of God by John W. Bullock expounded the whole Gospel of the Christ Jesus. Even though there were certain truths and realities of the Bible that I understood, John's book was a great source of illumination to some aspects I might be ignorant of. There is indeed great power in illumination. And more than just knowledge, wisdom comes by meditating on God's word. I learned all these from this book. These are what I considered positive in the book.
Also, Seeing with Fresh Eyes: Sin, Salvation, and the Steadfast Love of God by John W. Bullock was exceptionally well-edited. It was written so that there was no room for distraction. The Bible passages were also correct and were used in perfect coordination with the author's narrative. I rate John's book 4 out of 4 stars, considering this beautiful manuscript. There was nothing I found negative in the book.
Seeing with Fresh Eyes: Sin, Salvation, and the Steadfast Love of God by John W. Bullock will indeed open any reader's eyes to the knowledge of the gospel and the redemption work of Christ. I recommend this book to those interested in learning more about redemption and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
