Re: Review of Emotional Intelligence At Work

Post by mrlefty0706 »

A very interesting book about the significance our emotions affect our career and are the most prominent of all success metrics. This book is a guide to help readers identify their emotional needs at their workplace. One must be aware of one's own emotionsal needs as well as their co-workers because of our work-life balance. Emotions can bias business decisions and in many cases cause the wrong decision. One needs to look for clues to determine their emotional needs and the work-life balance of the people they work with. Personality differences have been studied for many years but looking at emotions is going more in-depth and should enable one to develop a much more rounded evaluation of oneself and co-workers. Very good review.

This self-help is very important to everyone because I believe that all of us will have to work at some point or another in our life. I am still yet to work, so I am looking forward to the time I have to read this book. Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

It was a great review. I would definitely consider reading this book if I was still active in my original workforce. If I ever go back, I will pick this up.

I always believe that emotional intelligence is as important as intelligence quotient. There should always be a balance between this two for optimum career and personal growth. Having a high Eq can lead to good working relationship with one' s co worker. Congrats BOTD!

It would be a lie if we say our emotions don't affect our work or our work decisions for that matter. So understanding our emotional needs for the work environment is equally important. Congratulations on BOTD!

While I'm not a big fan of hustle culture and the corporate world, it's sometimes a necessity to be able to tackle that fast-paced environment. Hence I will be trying this book out to see if it has some insightful advice.

Thank you for the excellent review! Seeing that you have also been convinced makes this book much more tempting to read! I also agree that scientific justification will certainly help further the theories in this book. After reading the sample I cannot deny that the author is very good at speaking bold truths without hurting us but is still able to wake us up from our unhealthy thoughts and habits. I also think that it can benefit everybody and not just business workers as the things that the author mentions really do apply to a lot of people on day to day work too.

If your observation that scientific bases for the relevance of emotional intelligence in the workplace equals the absence of evidence, then I wouldn’t give the book a perfect rating. But I do take the point about the influence of emotions on business relationships.
