Re: Official Review: Free will, do you have it?

Post by Al Fakoor »

I hadn't encounter with the term "Procirclism", but I have always thought about the concept.

This is converging with my own opinion: you are immortal up until the moment you begin to think about death. The same way, you have free will up until the moment you begin to think if you actually have it or not (see last statement of this review)

Well human tends to "learn by doing". This is how the brain works , (learn->do->feedback) in a cycle. So the same input to brain my not produce the same output on different people, because of the number of iterations and feedback processing done earlier differ between them.

I would add this example: When I say "That open space restaurant, has a lot of cats living and passing nearby the tables", this fact makes makes my son shout in cheer and my wife scream in fear at the same time because of different experiences they had previously when encountering cats.

Thanks for the review and I confirm the point that it may be shocking for the one that had never thought about having or lacking the free will, because thinking about it is the game changer.

A book that questions the right of humans to a free will will be interesting to read. I'd love to discover what the author's perspective is. Great review.

This book is weird, and it's calling out to me. Maybe because my thinking is weird that's why I'm instantly connecting to it.

I have never heard of the term procirclism before and I know this book will provide a great deal of knowledge about this term. Based on this review, I'm considering getting this book.

This seems to be full of new and challenging thoughts which are very welcoming because I am such a person who always want to challenge new learnings and thoughts. The concept of procirclism is a new thought that I would like to know.Congrats BOTD!

Thanks for your awesome review, I've heard this theory before from neurology scientist. And I don't agree with this theory. But as a knowledge of neurological science it would widen my knowledge and point of view.

This book reminds me so much of the concept of perspective: Humans determine the definition of good and bad according to what they feel is right or wrong. Take a Lioness feeding on an antelope; is the Lioness wrong for killing the antelope or is the Lioness right for choosing to live and feed her cubs? Or as a human, you're down to your last penny and some random person comes and asks you for that penny...would you give him?

I am not really into philosophy and books on it but this one seems like a must read from this review.
