The book begins in the land of Princes, where the rulers don’t seem to be doing their jobs well. It’s not a place people want to spend their entire life, and the same goes for our protagonist, who has always wanted to leave and is now getting his chance to escape this horrible place.

Galen’s uncle has passed away, and Galen is supposed to inherit his uncle’s forge and continue his uncle’s business. After a week’s journey at sea, Galen finally steps foot in Voulhire for the first time. He meets Rowan (his uncle’s executor), who is supposed to help him find his footing in Voulhire, But they become close friends. But the trouble is boiling beneath the surface of this successful kingdom as Meldorath seeks revenge, and the Riva Rohavi, a terrorist group, gather in secret, waiting for the right time to strike.

Reading We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies was quite an enjoyable experience, it’s the first book in its series, and it did a fantastic job grabbing my attention and keeping me interested till the end, which is a good thing. The characters have a personality with relatable qualities and feel like people you would want to meet and empathize with. I felt sorry for Galen and was very glad he made it out of the Land of Princes, and I thought Rowan was funny. The author, Matthew Tysz, writes straightforwardly, which makes this book easy to read and fun. The author also introduced new characters in a way that was mild and not overwhelming. I think the author did a fantastic job.

The only problem I faced while reading this book was with the names of the characters. They aren’t conventional names that I’m used to, and at first, it was difficult to remember and keep track of each person, but I got used to it eventually, and even though there were instances of profanity in this book, I still enjoyed it.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it is well put together, and I enjoyed it. I didn’t rate it lower because I hated nothing about this book. I didn’t come across any misused or misspelled words, so I think the author has edited this book exceptionally. I would recommend this book to adults who are interested in history and magic. You wouldn’t want a child reading this because of the instances of profanity in it.

Galen is unknown to the world as he never saw anything outside of the Land of Princes. Thanks for the review!

When we can’t let go of a book as interesting as it is, it’s a true indicator of the writer’s literary prowess.

This was an odd one. On one end, I wholely believe it would be a great read. On the other end, I feel like I would completely regret that choice especially the cringe cliched moment when Galan finds out that his close friend, Rowan, is his uncle's executor. I will have to find out but thank you for the review, though.
