Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Galen is a young man who has known and seen death all his life. Well, most of his life. He was born in a land that once knew peace. But everything changed when his land's ruler decided to grab land from his brothers. Now his country has been thrown into a war that has cost Galen everything. All hope is lost. Well, not exactly. Hope stares him in the face when he gets word that a man was looking for him. That he is expected to journey to Voulhire the first chance that he gets to claim his inheritance. Now, that's a surprise, but Galen is not about to tear up his ticket to freedom by asking who bequeathed the property to him. He jumps on the first boat that he finds and makes his way to Voulhire. We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies tells the story of the beginning of his adventure in the great Kingdom of Voulhire.
Well, Matthew Tysz used this book to whet my appetite for a good adventure novel. He didn't just do that but ensured that I would want to grab the sequel when I can by beautifully writing this book. His description made it seem like I was watching the events play out in 3D. It sparked so much interest in the most mundane things in Voulhire.
I was left wondering about the people's politics and their culture. I was left fascinated by the fact that despite being one big country, each of the provinces seemed to have a different way of life from all others. While some believed in God, others believed in magic. While some believed in magic, others could care less about it. Matthew Tysz's process of storytelling is so amazing that I fell in love with it completely and it became my favorite thing in the book.
I want to make it clear that I did not dislike anything in this awesome book. I know that I have hyped this book enough, but how can I not when the stories and discoveries in it left me happily dazed? I also want to say that, as someone who has read some of Matthew Tysz's other series, he did not disappoint in We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies.
Considering how much I have hyped this book, it will be absolutely weird if I didn't rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I give it this rating because it deserved every bit of it. One can say that Matthew Tysz did not impress with just his storyline. He also impressed me with the book's editing. He and his team ensured that We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies was exceptionally edited and had no errors.
I recommend this book to lovers of fantasy adventure novels. As it did not disappoint me, I am confident that you won't be disappointed too if you happen to fall into the class above.
