Review of I'm a Winner
The truth about life is that, once you channel your mind into achieving something, you will be surprised at how far you will go to make your dreams come true. I'm a Winner by Michael Alonzo Williams is a book that teaches about the power of the mind.
Lars was an oversized boy who never thought of anything else besides food. Despite several attempts to quit his habit of overeating, he always found himself giving in to the temptation of Mr. T, who he felt made him eat more than he should. Lars would often tell himself that this was the last time, but then when Mr. T came, he couldn't resist him, alongside his best friend, Shellmond. Just like every obese kid, Lars and Shellmond were picked on by the school bully, Benny, who made life a living hell for the two. However, after their encounter with Mir the Magician, their lives would never remain the same.
I laughed hard while reading this book. I couldn't hold myself when he fell to the ground while trying to copy his friend, Shellmond. I must confess, I learned a lot from this book. Just like Lars, we are tempted by other things, maybe not our eating habits. This book will teach you how much willpower, discipline, and self-control can do for you. A lot of bullies intimidate other people because they want to hide their fear, and this was the case for Benny.
There was nothing to hate about this book. This book has a lot to teach regarding how to achieve one's goals. Tina was a character I admired a lot. We all have people like Tina in our lives, who, despite our shortcomings, will always stand by us. This book taught me that trying to achieve one goal is hard, but when achieved, the rewards that come with it are satisfying.
I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no errors while reading this, which shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. I would recommend this book to every child struggling with self-discipline and to people who love reading children's books.
