Reading this book taught me that everyone has their own set of problems. Brandy is a great illustration of how you don't have to be the person you were born into. All we have to do now is learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat them.

my lessons mostly accrue to women. women in the book are depicted as strong independent persons mostly Brandys mother and later Brandy her self. it teaches therefore that women are as powerful as men and they shouldnt be under looked

Brandy taught me that determination and zeal are sometimes the only things you need to keep going. Asides that I have not found any other substantial lesson.

I learned several lessons while reading this book, but the one that hit home was, to never give up on life. It won't always be easy but as long as you don't give up, you won't lose.

Brandy is a great role model for young ladies today. Overcoming obstacles, stick-to-itiveness, and becoming something more than what life says you should be -- these are excellent qualities to be taught to young ladies of our generation.

Brandy is a good example to learn from. She taught us that no matter how much we struggle, we should be strong enough to overthrow the struggles and keep our head high whilst doing so! No one can control us, not even life! We are in charge of ourselves.

I think that Brandy, in particular, sets a good example of Bravery. Especially in the face of adversity.

The most important lesson here for me is to never stop pushing. Giving up is not an option.
