In David Griffith's book, Without Redemption, Lonnie Bowers was a rodeo cowboy and a federal intelligence agent who was relatively famous for making life miserable for the drug cartel bad guys. He was married to a strikingly beautiful woman named Clarissa and had an adorable son named Conor. He had his gaze set on a world championship game in Las Vegas, but some time during the semi-finals, he had an accident and broke his left arm. His boss, Frederick Roseman, swooped in and offered him an all-expense-paid family vacation in Costa Rica. Lonnie only had to pick up an important parcel in Nicaragua. Things, however, didn't go as planned, and Paolo, an experienced sicario with the Sinaloa cartel, was tasked with the responsibility of hunting him down. Would Lonnie survive this adventure in an unknown territory with a wife and son?

This is one of the most interesting books I've read in a while, to say the least. The prologue was enough to whet my appetite, while the subsequent chapters literally swept me off my feet. The author gave a detailed backstory for each character, at times deftly including the character's socio-economic status. It had the upside of allowing the reader a peek into the character's mind, a better understanding of their struggles, the rationale behind the decisions they made, and the insecurities they faced afterwards. It really is an applaudable feat. The author also expertly addressed a pertinent issue that has been plaguing society since time immemorial—the issue of drugs and drug cartels. One striking point that is so often overlooked is that people who work for drug cartels often wish they didn't, but can't seem to do anything about it for fear of losing their lives. This book brings all those pertinent points to bare.

I greatly appreciated how the author deftly captured the intricacies of an officer's life, most importantly their family life and the sacrifices they all have to make. What makes it outstanding is that it is perfectly blended into the narrative and doesn't in any way hinder one's enjoyment of the book. On the contrary, it makes the entire narrative a bit more relatable. There were also a lot of safety and health-related tips. As a psychologist, I was pleased to see that the majority of the mental health tips offered were plausible and not merely fictitious.

Though the author tried to offer some contextual definition of terms, it didn't apply to all. I constantly had to look up the meaning of certain words in order to gain a better understanding of the narrative. It was a bit frustrating at some points, but I had to get over it and enjoy the narrative. Also, the fact that the author didn't resort to the use of profanities even when it seemed as though the situation warranted it is another applaudable feat.
 
This was really an enjoyable read and deserves nothing less than a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The book was exceptionally well edited, as I didn't notice any errors. I'd recommend it to a more mature audience, lovers of cowboys and adventurous novels. I'm sure you'll love it.

Wow this is an entertainment book full of fast paced action, jungle chases and game of cat and mouse the main protagonist wife is midly annoying ..I will highly recommend this book it made my day
