I cannot imagine what John must have gone through as a child. Being able to see ghosts, which is scary, and being unable to explain these things to others must have had a serious impact on his life. This book seems very interesting, and even though I'm not a fan of memoirs, I'm curious to read the book due to the supernatural aspect.

A supernatural story book "The Boy who Lived with ghosts" by John Mitchell, which tells us about a boy's experiences when he encounters ghosts during his childhood days. A thrilling book to read.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Sounds like a really disturbing book. I am definitely not one for horror so I might steer clear. I wonder if this is a memoir of the author since his name is John too. Congratulations on BOTD 🥳

It explores child molestation, family dysfunction, and poverty from the innocent perspective of a child. The darkness of reality hides more frightening entities than the paranormal. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

Children tend to trust grown-ups but it Is grown-ups that abuse them in many ways. The book is written from a child's perspective and educates the reader on how children view things and adults' activities.

Thanks for this review. Great that you mention the tough issues discussed in the book. I don't think this book is for me. It's just tough to witness the suffering of a child. It is easier to stomach the suffering of an adult. The fact that you cried shows just how tough John's childhood must have been. The positive part is that it is rare to come across a book written from the perspective of a child. Very unique and worth a read if you have a strong heart. Great review!

I don't think I like this book, particularly because it centres on a child's experience. I think it would be recommended for children. Good review though!

A book with darker themes, the title threw me off somewhat. The ghosts are definitely haunting when facing the issues John faces at such a young age. Interesting review.

This is a unique way of writing. Digging into how a child thinks reason situations around him will be interesting to me. The author has done a great job here and I am willing to sit down with him and enjoy the moment.

I got chills just from seeing the name of this book and thought that might be really scary, but it seems like in this case, it's John childhood that are the ghosts. Thank you for this review.
