I have read two books from R.F. Kristi’s Inca Book Series, and I have found them very valuable to children. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, the eighth book in the series, is a gripping story about how a group of animals had to cross over to North Korea from South Korea on a dangerous mission.

Inca, a Siberian detective cat, had formed Inca & Company to solve crimes. She employed the services of her siblings and friends—cats, dogs, and a hamster. Their human mom got appointed to judge a cooking competition in South Korea, and she took them with her. Though they visited many remarkable places in Korea, they were faced with a daunting task. They had to sneak in a cat from North Korea to South Korea. To achieve this, they had to cross over to North Korea, convince the cat to follow them, and cross back to South Korea. And they have to accomplish this while evading detection on the heavily guarded border. Would anything go wrong as they attempt this risky task?

As an adult, I found this book very absorbing; children are going to be engrossed by it. This book is a must-read for children; it has a lot of precious lessons. For me, the most important lesson was the power of positive thinking. Inca almost gave up at a point when she was flooded with negative thoughts. However, she reminded herself to be positive and forged ahead with doing what she had to do. Interestingly, some of her fears came to pass, but she found a way past the challenges. This would never have happened if she had given up in the first place. This is a vital lesson for children and, in fact, us all. In addition to discovering some remarkable places in Korea, children will also learn some Korean words and some Korean history.

Accordingly, I rate this book four out of four stars. I loved everything about the book; there was nothing to dislike. It has pictures everywhere—children will love it. Moreover, it was exceptionally well-edited.

I recommend this book to children and their teachers. It is also a suitable book that parents can read to their children.

The features of this book makes it captivating. I love the idea of learning and seeing into foreign culture like Korea. The story's plot would be indeed be interesting to children.

Wow I love the storyline already! Their adventure from North Korea to South Korea seems quite risky yet exciting.

I have a ton of questions. I gotta say, I like the idea of a "cat detective." It's definitely something kids would like to read and probably enjoying watching if it ever gets animated into a TV show. Nice review.

I'm already anxious thinking of how these animals embarked on the dangerous journey of crossing over to perilous North Korea. This is going to be an interesting read.

These pet animals took an unbelievable journey to North Korea, despite the implied dangers. My kids could do with this sort of courage. I'm getting this book.

Your review reminds me of our cat when I was still a kid. God knows how much I miss her. I'm sure this book induces a love of animals.

I love how this author teaches moral lessons with stories without forcing it on children. It makes the lessons effortless. Your review did justice to this amazing book.

Wow, if you found this book absorbing as an adult, that means children are going to be glued to it. R.F. Kristi is remarkably good.

It's hard for anybody to decide to legally travel to North Korea presently. These pets must be incredibly brave to enter that country without papers for the sake of their loved ones.

Yours review of this book is down-to-earth. I love it. Indeed, children will benefit immensely from this book, especially the value that of positive thinking. I recommend that parents and would-be parents pick this book for their children.
