I really enjoy reading because it always surprises me. I love how the author can make you feel like you are there or know the person you are reading about. As I am reading I often stop in the middle of a page and reread a line a few times because the way it is written is so beautiful. I love to just get lost in a book.

I love reading for the escape. I hate to travel. I do not like riding in cars or flying for long periods of time. Reading gives me the chance to explore the world from my home.

As I think most people have said already, the big reason why I read is to get out of my life for a bit and step into someone else's shoes. Mostly somebody who has a more exciting/interesting life but also just to nosy at their problems so I can think 'well maybe my life could be worse' even though i know they're not real haha.
Other reasons are just to have something simple to do to keep my mind active and also to get ideas to develop my own writing.

Reading is a great chance for me to escape everything! When I read and really get into a book I feel like I'm no longer aware of everything going on around me like I can escape all that is wrong and just transport into my own little world. I love reading about the characters and trying to visualize them or relate them to people you know or when you read about a place they're at and you can just picture it, crystal clear. When you can relate to a character or when you become even emotionally attached to characters. I especially love when books change the way you see the world. I love the way I feel heartbroken and lonely after I've finished reading one. I love buying a new book and bringing It to school to show everyone (even though they really don't care). I love sharing my books with my friends! I love how they make me feel smart :) haha! But most of all I love how all books are different and each one is special, I can't forget them. Books really are just amazing!

When I pick up a book I'm ready to go on an adventure. My trip can take me back in time or into the future. I can see new places, smell new smells and meet all kinds of people, good and evil. My mind can be challenged by a mystery, it can be taken back to days of childhood, I can have conversations with mice or knights or wizards and elves. I love to read for the new experiences and landscapes or seascapes. I can fall in love all over again (well, you know, in the story) or discover a new hero... so many reasons I love to read.

When I was a kid I was really shy. I had a hard time making friends and so I read books. It kept me entertained and helped me learn about different types of people.

Now I just read because it is fun. :)

Reading takes me to different places. I can picture the characters as I want to see them. Reading is like music, travel in time and space.

My dad taught me to love reading by reading with me when I was a kid. When I was seven we took turns reading the first Harry Potter book together; as time went on, I took over that project and read them at my own pace in school. :P
I like reading because it makes me nostalgic for ideas and people I might not come across in real life. And I like learning things.

I like reading, because of how it affects me, I can be having a terrible day and a book can just take me away.

I like reading because I have the ability to do anything in my imagination world. I get lost and I'm in control of how to understand and see the characters.. no one is there only you!

I love to read because it's a way to escape for awhile. You get to use your imagination to create these places and people and environments that are being described. It's a way to get away from the stresses and complications of reality without actually running away from your problems.

It seems I also have to agree with with every one. For me, reading is a way to escape my troubles, worries, stress, etc. of every day. It is my time to relax and go some place that I can not go in real life. I love reading, what more needs to be said.

I like reading because I like being drawn into a different time and place. For those few hours, I get to leave reality behind and just immerse myself into another world, so to speak. I also enjoy reading because, without a doubt, reading makes you smarter! 8)
