What a thorough review. You understood the book perfectly, and as the author puts it, we need to put in the work to be successful. We must conquer ourselves.

I don't find the book title appealing at all, but the content seems to be worth reading.

I’ll admit I am not about self-help books, but this is definitely a book I could see myself reading. In just the few preview chapters it made me take stock of my own life. As someone who deals with chronic illness, being positive can be difficult. But it is possible. I know if I pray about things that I tend to feel some weight lift off my shoulders. And I liked how he said he wasn't going to sugar coat anything. That's awesome.

Self help books are actually great books. “If you keep living your life the same way, how can you expect your life to magically improve?”. This part of your review got my attention and made me think about my life.

I'm not really interested in self-help books but this one, coming from more of a tough love standpoint, might be worth a read. I'll add it to my reading list. Thanks for the informative review.

I know that there have been many times in my life that I did not move forward to something because of "buts." This would have been a good book to read earlier in my life. Thank you for your review.

This book certainly sounds no-nonsense, but also encouraging in a "tough love" sort of way. I like that the author's advice is general enough to apply to all areas of life while also employing specific examples. Good to know that this book stands out in the vast world of self-help literature! Thanks for the detailed review.

I really do get the sense that this book brings something different to the table as far as self-help books go. It is for this reason that it is well worth a read. We all need a little tough love sometimes, especially these days. Thanks for the very informative review.
