Thank you for your review. I am a fan of historical fiction, but I haven't read many books about ancient Egypt. I am curious to discover more about this fascinating nation and this book seems like a perfect start. I like that the language of the novel is accessible and straightforward.

This is a great historical fiction which explores the Egyptian history. When political tensions are high, and the king passes away, controversy sparks, which turns all of the Egyptian kingdom to chaos.

I loved reading your review, it is great and I believe it has all the information needed about the book. I am definitely adding this book to my shelves, I like historical fiction and ancient Egypt is a fascinating era; and on top of that there is a murder mystery? Wow! I understand what you mean about the presence of modern phrases and idioms not having their places in ancient Egypt, for a reader it can feel weird; I guess for the author it is a way for us to feel a stronger connection to the story. Thanks for the review.

I like historical fiction, but the political setup is hard for me to follow. The modernized version of the language used in the book may cause me to forget its actual timeline. The sexual content may turn me off, so I choose not to read it for now. Congratulations on the BOTD.

I love this review. It got me hooked up and makes me want to read the book. I love ancient historical stories especially the Greeks, Egypt and others. The story isn't complete without an hint of sexuality.
Thanks for the review.

The story set in ancient Egypt shows a brutal ruler King Akh-en-aten who is creating havoc in which lifelong friendships are betrayed, livelihoods are lost, and lives are in grave danger. Lord Hanoi has much to do to free himself. Thanks for the review.

Historical fiction about a tumultuous period in Egyptian history sounds interesting. I am curious to see if the protagonist survives this and if this book provides new insights into that period of time. Congratulations on BOTD.

This seems like a nice story. Lord Hani's job certainly sounds like a difficult one, especially with a new king who isn't ready to make any effort to keep the peace. Nice work on your review!

It seems to have so many themes that I don't usually find interesting, but the cover is great so I think I'll like it. There's ancient Egypt, politics, and mystery. I think I might be interested.

Historical fictions hold a lot of knowledge. And this one seems like an intriguing read. It's nice that the language used is less complicated making it easier to read and understand. Thank you for the insightful review

Bird in a Snare sounds like a great historical fiction novel which shows similarities between people and civilizations of 2 distinct periods in history. Fans of Egyptian history will love this book.
