The book sounds a movie, it's a great adventure. I can't wait to read it.

This story looks like a lot, yet simple. First of all, I’m glad Brimstone survived the fight. I love stories about magic, as long as it’s not scary, and this doesn’t seem so scary. Nice book!

From the description, this book seems heart-wrenching, “Death and suffering lie around every corner, and not even the innocent are safe.” I hope I'm not too faint-hearted to venture into this emotive read.

Having read the excerpt, this is a really interesting start to something a bit different for me. I loved the honesty of the opening lines discussing how best to start, “at the beginning”. The protagonists character journey so far is definitely different and interesting. I would consider reading the rest of the book and series, even though I don’t normally go for fantasy.

I love magic, who doesn't. This book is for some one who loves fantasy. But disclaimer this one a dark fantasy you may encounter violence and many not eye-catching creatures.

I love the openness and critical analysis put into this review. While I appreciate the effort of Victor Rose in writing this book, its review just didn't appeal to me. Perhaps, others might be thrilled by it.

Sounds like a fascinating story with an incredible plot twists that will keep readers glued. I can relate to Leaf's difficulties in creating magic as a student in a magic school and how he's been bullied. Congrats on the BOTD.

This sounds great. I am a big fan of Harry Potter not so much of Game of Thrones but I am sure to enjoy this one. Fantasy and magic are my favorite. This is a definite must read.

When I read it's like a Harry Potter book, and the story revolves around the protagonist enrolled in magic school however they don't have magic or powers, I thought it's a Harry Potter book told in a different story version, and then I read characters in the book around 10 years old killing other characters, I thought this is no Harry Potter, it could be even better.

I do love a good fantasy, but I don't like a lot of violence or sexual themes so I think I'll have to pass. The fantasy world the author has built in this book does sound really cool, though!

This is a fantasy story involving children practicing magic. It's full of action and adventure. If you enjoy these genre's, this should be an interesting read.

Wow, I never fancied Games of Thrones, and I could never decide whether I liked Harry Potter or not. Be it as it may, I just HAD to read it anyway. This story sounds both gross and fascinating. As you mentioned, the ages of the characters sound very wrong. However, a mage who doesn’t know how to do magic piques my interest. Thank you for the amazing review!

The story caught my attention and it sounds interesting. It sounds like a mix of a few well-known stories but is still unique on its own.

Thank you for the detailed review.
