A Brighter Tomorrow is a collection of intriguing poems written by Dr. Lori Schneider, who is also a neurologist and medical acupuncturist. According to Lori, these poems were written during the COVID-19 pandemic and served as a sort of therapy for her. The book contains images, of which some are pictures, while others are drawings, which the artist, Dr. Mark Salevitz, called impressionist art. Each of these images accompanies each poem, and each image that accompanies a poem illustrates what that poem is all about. These poems are all inspiring poems that talk about different things. In addition to addressing emotions evoked by the COVID-19 pandemic, the poems also look into various themes, such as the themes of love, racial injustice, hope, courage, and animal advocacy. They are grouped according to their main themes. For instance, the section labeled "Love" has poems with love as its main theme, such as "Dance With Me" and "A Mother's Love" in that section. The section labeled "Hope" has a poem named "A New Day!".

Going through these poems was an emotional experience. I like how the poems are straightforward, well-written, and simple to read and comprehend. I appreciate the use of paintings and photos as they are engaging because they stir the reader's imagination and complement the poems. I appreciate the storytelling aspect of this poem as it makes the poem interesting and inspiring. Although Lori does not adhere to a particular rhyming scheme format for all the poems, each has its rhyming scheme. I love most the poem titled "Healing Power of Animals," as I have experienced the true healing power of animals. The poem tells the story of two siblings who lost their parents. This results in the younger sibling going into depression. However, while taking care of the horses their parents left them with, they both gradually heal.

I disliked nothing about this book because I thoroughly enjoyed reading the poems. It was both emotional and inspiring, which gave me hope for a better tomorrow.

The writing style of the poet is stunning, and the fluency with which the narratives of each have been entwined is quite commendable. The book is exceptionally well-edited, as I found no grammatical or typographical errors while reading it. I also appreciate the poet's use of rhymes at the ends of the sentences; it adds more fun to the poems. For these reasons, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to fans of poetry and art. I would also recommend it to anyone who seeks inspiration in dark times. Some poems, especially those about hope and love, could bring some comfort.
