I like the simplicity of this book. In fact, I've found that I enjoy reading books of this genre for this same reason. I'll give it a read if I get the chance. Thank you for the wonderful review!

The way you described the book made me eager to dive in and discover their adventures. I did not think I would look forward to reading a book that is mostly about kids having fun in the neighborhood. This shows how engaging and gripping your review was. I will check out the book when I have free time. Thank you for the delightful review!

This book seemed like a cross between a children's bedtime story and a memoir. It was a delightful mix. Thank you for your visit and comment, C Janet. It's always good to see you!

After I started this book, I was a bit concerned because I didn't think I would enjoy a bunch of stories about kids playing during summer vacation either. But as I was drawn into the stories and I got to know the characters, I loved the book and will actually look for the sequel.

Thank you for your visit and your kind comment!

Seems like it's a interesting read. I'd also want to know what others went through in their early lives. Your review is incredible.

It was fun to read but also hard to image the carefree adventures these children had all summer; the world is such a different place today. Thank you for your visit and your kind comment!

Thank you. Your comprehensive review was such a pleasure to read. I could imagine the characters you described and I appreciated the gentle humour.
appreciated the subtle nod to the different socioeconomic statuses of the group. The playmates noticed how Billy Ray’s house was in disrepair and wondered why his father had never fixed it.
I noticed that some people thought it might be a children's book. From your statement above I wondered if children and adults could appreciate it, but on different levels.

I hope you enjoy it. This book was an interesting combination of stories and characters that would interest both children and reminiscing adults. Thank you for your visit.

This book is an interesting combination. I wouldn't categorize it in the children's genre necessarily, but it does have stories that children would like. Thank you for your visit and your comment.

Hi Mrs D O! You're absolutely right. Children and adults would appreciate it on different levels. Adults of a certain age would remember the simpler times, and children may find it hard to believe that there could be so much to do to entertain themselves outside all day without technology :D

Thank you for your visit and your thoughtful comment.
